Privacy in plain language
What we collect
- Your email address (for sign-in only)
- A demographic profile: age, country, and optional fields you may choose to share
- Your responses to clips: emotion, cues, confidence, and any optional notes you write
What we never collect
- Your real name
- Your photo or video
- Your location beyond country
- Biometric data of any kind
How we store it
Encrypted at rest and in transit. Hosted on Supabase (Singapore region). Access is restricted via row-level security so only you and authorized researchers can see your individual responses.
Your rights
- You may withdraw at any time.
- You may request data deletion. Within 30 days, your account is pseudonymized — your individual responses are no longer linked to you, while aggregate research data remains.
- You may request access to your data on request.
If you're under 13
Our research is set up for ages 13 and above. If you're a parent who'd like your child under 13 to participate, email contact@mindlenslab.org and we'll set up a supervised session.
Video attribution
Clips on MindLens Lab are embedded from publicly available content via the official YouTube IFrame Player API. We do not download, rehost, or redistribute any video — playback runs from YouTube's servers, and the player honors YouTube's Terms of Service.
All rights to the video content remain with the original creators and rights holders. Clips are framed and timestamped for a non-commercial academic research purpose: studying how people read emotion in social moments. If you are a creator and would like a clip removed from the dataset, email contact@mindlenslab.org.
